11th Burton on Trent (The Foresters) Scouts

The Foresters provide Scouting to young people in and around the Yoxall area of Burton on Trent. They encourage young people to do more, learn more and be more.  Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – helping them speak up and play their part.

They believe in bringing people together. They celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. They're part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

Each week Scouts give almost half a million people aged 4-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

We're talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience & skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, they go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But they also get to hang out with their friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

There are lots of ways anyone can get involved, like helping out occasionally as time allows, Scouting is very flexible on recognising the time people have to give. It could be offering to help out on a camp, taking on an admin role or something more regular like the weekly meetings. Because whether you're helping a leader to run an activity in the local village hall, organising a night away, or buttering 120 slices of bread for a group of very hungry eleven year olds - no two Scout meetings are the same.
